…After needing to place my mother in assisted living came the reality of needing to clean out her house and sell it - a large house filled with 52 years of “stuff” and countless memories. Looking around, it was overwhelming. Where to start? I started doing some research on my own. Within just a few seconds, up popped “Liz & Deb’s Estate Sales”. Hmmm . . . Not only was there a lot of great information and photos, but there was a page of testimonials a mile long from clients who had nothing but wonderful things to say, so I picked up the phone and called. My first contact was with Liz, who was so personable and upbeat. I explained the situation and about feeling so overwhelmed. Obviously this was all new to me, but Liz immediately put me at ease. A few days after my conversation with Liz, both she and Deb met me at my mother’s house so they could assess the situation. While looking at everything that was visible in every room, as well as every closet and cabinet that was full, and even the attic, they agreed that it was a lot of stuff, but found this to be a very exciting opportunity, and arrangements were made for them to take on this project. While I opted to stay away as much as possible while Liz & Deb were working, I did need to pop in from time to time. The process they have, from start to finish, is absolutely amazing and well organized. First, it’s very physically labor-intensive as they empty and go through all closets, cabinets and drawers. Their attention to detail is incredibly thorough. They examine everything to ensure nothing is broken, missing parts, or permanently stained. They polished silver, washed glassware to get it clean and sparkly, dusted and cleaned items, and even did some laundry. Jewelry was taken to a jeweler and/or gemologist to be tested and/or authenticated. There were countless hours of research done to check or locate manufacturers, designers, specific model numbers, dates, places of origin, or any other interesting or relevant background information, which even included a few phone calls. The items were displayed and multiple photos taken at every angle, along with closeups of any identifying information. Write-ups are done to describe the item(s) in each lot in detail, including any other information to ensure each item is presented for optimal value. All the items/lots are labeled and wrapped/packed for eventual pickup, including having large items moved to an accessible area. Once the auction closes, all the items are grouped by winners for ease of locating to ensure a quick and smooth pickup process. Wow - what an amazing process and amount of work!!!Liz & Deb took excellent care of the house while they were working in it. It was agreed that if they ran across items that were definitely “trash”, they could toss them, and each week they put the trash bin out at the curb, and brought it back to the house the next day. They were respectful of the entire contents of the house, and put everything not used in the sale neatly away, and cleaned up when done. Though I didn’t know what to expect from the auction, I was blown away by the results - all due to Liz & Deb’s expertise and hard work! There is no way I could have handled this myself and, if I had, there’s no way I would have achieved even a fraction of the results they did. They also work at an incredible pace. If I had attempted to deal with all of this it would take me forever as I would need to look at and reminisce over every item. I am so glad I found Liz & Deb and had them handle this auction! They were both pleasures to work with from start to finish, and made me feel at ease by understanding that I found this overwhelming, stressful and emotional. ….I cannot thank Liz and Deb enough for rescuing us and executing the estate auction of my parents house. My husband and I met them a year ago but due to a circumstances beyond our control it took that long to get the authority to hire someone. Then the pandemic hit and no foot traffic estate sales were permitted. During one of my many sleepless nights of not knowing the best way to handle this task, I went online to do some more research and came across the Liz and Deb website and there it was; my answer. Within that year they started to do online auctions. Not only did they have to handle the contents of my parents possessions who lived in the same house for fifty years, but there were also all possessions of all previously departed family members of the generation before also stored in this one house. The volume of things in my opinion exceeded the average house items by many and Dad had his own Home Depot in the basement. The work they both accomplished in a short amount of time is unfathomable and their helpers Eddy and Peter are amazing too. The auction exceeded all our expectations. The relief I experienced while they were there was completely unexpected. Never thought letting strangers into my personal, emotional and precious memories would eventually be so comforting and these strangers are no longer that. We miss them now and cherish the little time we spent with them. …My husband and I had to move my father-in-law into an assisted-living facility, and needed to prepare his condo for sale. We were quite overwhelmed, and really didn't know where to begin. ...The prospect of downsizing after my divorce was not a pleasant one, but I certainly felt that I could handle the task on my own.  Our large home had never appeared to be cluttered—in fact I had taken great care to keep it clutter-free over the years as I raised my three children.  My original plan was to hold a weekend tag sale myself and be done with the issue of ‘extra stuff.’  But as I began to take inventory & the sheer size of the house, I realized there was a deceivingly huge number of items. I felt overwhelmed and downright panicked.  Enter Liz and Deb: my saviors! With compassion, humor, amazing expertise and a lot of physical hard work, they sorted, organized, researched, priced and marketed the contents of my home.  On Estate Sale day I enjoyed a leisurely morning & afternoon away with friends and returned to a much emptier home and a sizable cash pay-out to boot! ..... I contacted Liz & Deb’s Sales to help on 2 separate occasions. I had a quantity of antique and vintage tin toys to sell. They researched, sold on eBay, packed and shipped all. I was very pleased with their effort and the money I received for the toys. I hired them once again for help with an estate I inherited. It was a hoarder situation and required an extreme amount of work. Their work ethic and honesty impressed me, especially when they uncovered gold jewelry I did not know was there.
